How to use the video player

  • Play. Tap the big round button to start the video.
  • Next video. Tap this to watch a new video.
  • Previous video. Tap this to go back to the one before.
  • Pause. Tap to stop the video. Tap again to carry on.
  • LIVELive TV. Kenya TV LIVE and World news LIVE show what is on TV right now. There is no next or previous video. To change channel, pick another one.
  • Save or share a video. Tap Save this video to keep it in your list. Tap Share this video to send it to a friend on WhatsApp.
  • Pick a video. Under the player you will see pictures of the other videos. Tap any picture to watch it.
  • Make it bigger. Tap the small square in the corner of the video. Tap it again to make it small.
  • Video blocked? Some videos can’t be shown in Kenya. If you see a message like “not available in your country”, nothing is wrong. Just tap Next video.
  • Stay on this page. Don’t tap the word “YouTube” inside the video. It takes you away from here. If that happens, press the back button on your phone.

Have a smart TV? Open this page on the big screen and watch together.

  1. Connect your TV to your konnekt Wi-Fi. On the TV remote press Settings, then Network, then Wi-Fi. Choose your Wi-Fi name and type your password. Already connected? Go to step 2.
  2. Find the internet button. On the TV’s main screen look for the word Internet, Browser or Web, or a picture of a globe. Press OK on it.
  3. Type our name. At the top of the screen type konnektrecommends.com and press OK or Enter. Typing with a remote is slow. Take your time, you only do it once.
  4. Move with the arrows. Use the up, down, left and right buttons on the remote. Press OK to choose something.
  5. Pick a video and press play. Go to “Watch right here”, choose what you feel like, and press OK on the big round play button. To fill the whole screen, press OK on the small square in the corner of the video.

Keep it on your TV so it’s always there

  1. Save it as a favourite. While the page is open, look for a star or the words Add to bookmarks or Add to favourites. Press OK on it. Next time, press the internet button and choose konnekt recommends from your favourites. No typing.
  2. Make it open first. In the internet screen, open Settings and look for Home page or Start page. Choose Use current page. Now this page opens every time you press the internet button.

It can’t become a TV channel like KBC or Citizen. But once you save it this way, it is only two presses away.

No internet button on your TV? Send the picture from your phone. On your phone, swipe down from the top of the screen and look for Cast, Smart View or Screen Mirroring. Tap it and choose your TV. Then open this page on your phone and press play.

Other people’s websites and videos

The websites we link to and the videos we show are not ours. They belong to other people and companies, and they have their own rules. Videos play through YouTube, so YouTube’s terms apply when you watch. We choose carefully, but we cannot control what others publish, and things can change or disappear without warning. Most things here are free, but some websites may ask you to pay for extras such as certificates. If you see something that does not belong here, please tell us.

Children

Kids mode hides the grown-up sections, but it is a helper, not a guarantee. Parents and guardians remain responsible for what children watch. Please stay close to young children while they use the site.

What we collect

We do not ask for your name, phone number or account details. If you tap Yes on the cookie message, we use Google Analytics to count visits and to see which buttons and videos are popular, so we can add more of what people enjoy. This does not tell us who you are. If you tap No thanks, we do not use it. When you play a video, YouTube may place small files called cookies on your device.

What stays on your device

Your saved list, the order you chose, your Kids mode PIN and the names of videos you have watched are kept only on your own phone, computer or TV. We cannot see them. Clearing your browser’s data removes them.
